I've read Fredricks explanation on their website.

I didn't know VN came to a similar agreement. That's good to hear. Do they have a public statement posted somewhere explaining this?

And, Tradin1 said he was told "they replace the bearings and rings in every tractor they sell." Have they really shifted over to full reconditioning? This is big news for potential customers if VN 1 has reduced the likelyhood of the customer receiving a nightmare unit. That 'roll of the dice' gamble on quality was what buried the importer in N California a few years ago when their warranty returns overwhelmed them, and orphaned their po'd retailers and customers.

If VN 1 can convince the public they are comparable to Fredricks they should do well. Are they promoting their new direction?

I don't know about a public statement.. I got this info from a reliable source... Are their tractors now refurbed here in the states, as opposed to Vietnam ??? I don't know...Are they comparable to a fredricks tractor now ?? Can't answer that.. IMO,,,, I would rather have a tractor refurbed here with a Koyker loader as opposed to tractor refured a sweat shop in Vietnam with a VTEC loader... I know what I'm getting from fredricks.. I have no idea what I may get from a sweat shop in Vietnam (if that is where their refurbs come from)

So to update the thread I changed again today because Rodney made me a deal I couldn't refuse on a 4220d!! I have not driven it yet but I am beyond excited. It has the turbocharged 3 cyl engine, powershift, an alternator and aux hydraulics.

It was the largest yanmar they had. They are a new TYM dealer and I think they stock 55hp TYM's.

The 4220d is dimensionally the same as the 3220d I was going to get, just bigger motor and heavier duty parts. I can't wait to start moving dirt and doing my badly need drainage work!!!!

these people must not have been involved in the lawsuit ....I may be wrong ,but I was under the impression that Fredricks was the only dealer that could legally restore and sell yanmar tractors....Most others were put out of business by the Lawsuit

There probably "YMN japanese deisel tractors"
