Tires Need R4 Tires for Kubota MX5000d

I just purchased a used MX5000D, and I'm going to need to replace the R4 tires that are on it, any suggestions and what is the difference in R4 tires and regular Tractor tires?

R4's are industrial tread, usually used on skid steers and backhoes. They are wider and use smaller rims than regular tractor tires. Its quite rare for the rears to wear out on a small tractor, the fronts will wear out fairly quickly if driven on the road much.

Are your rears worn or just chunked up?

Find a dealer close by to you and see if he has one with the ag tires. We do, but I don't know where you are at?

The industrial tires have become a good seller and sell for more then the ag tires.

Best deals found is from Kubota for rims and tires.

Check with your Kubota dealer for used. Just traded my L5030 R4's (tires and rims) in for R1's. Rims and rears were good shape. Fronts were down to about 40% (900 hrs on 2006 model).

Thanks for the replies, the P/O had 2 farms and he wore down the tires on asphalt, going between them. I was amazed at the shipping costs, when I checked online, I think I have found a tire dealer locally that will get them and come to my place and install them, I guess if I was looking for tractor tires for it I will need to get R1 rims is this correct, by the way I'm in Northern Ky. What exactly is the advantage of R4 tires, just the width?

I have R4's and when mine wear out I will be replacing them with radial tires. They are wide like the r4's but have the r1 ag type of tread pattern. They give a softer ride than r4's and much better traction. R4's take forever to wear out but they will jar your teeth out on rough fields and have no sideways traction. Just my opinion.
