I just bought a 3 point log splitter and need to add remotes to my TC 40D so I can operate it. Looks like installation is pretty simple. Where can I get the kit? My dealer is on his way out of business so he may not be much help. Does anyone offer this stuff mail order?

What's the difference?

AFAIK, NH offers only rear remotes. I got 2 of them. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

sorry, Power beyond does not have a valve on the tractor, so when not in use a short hose is used to complete the non-stop circuit.

Your store bought 3pt woodsplitter has a valve to control the flow.

You can get the remotes but I believe the valve on the tractor needs a detent to keep the flow going. I am not sure but a piece of rope might work /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

An expert is sure to ring in any moment.

I use a bungee cord to run my post driver. One end gets attached to the support bracket under the amber light and the other one goes around the metal part of the rear remote lever.

I bought the Northern Tools three point swing down log splitter last spring. When I connect it to my TC-35 I just un plug the backhoe connections. I have the spltter mounted on a small 4ft by 4 ft trailer. If the back hoe is off the tractor I can either tow the trailer with the drawbar, attach the splitter to the 3 pt. and just carry it around, or pick up splitter trailer and all with the 3.pt. If the back hoe is on the tractor I just disconnect the htdraulic lines for it, then connect the log splitter hydraulic lines. I installed 12 ft long lines to the splitter so I can move it around depending on where I'm splitting. You can attach the splitter to a set of remotes. You will need at "detent" or use the old bungee cord trick to make them work. Look for member "Pineridge" in the NH forums. He has an excellent write up on installing remotes on class III Boomers (TC-35, 40 45's). When you find "Pineridge" click on "TC-40 SS Pictures" , then look for remotes. The best price I found on the remotes was via a sponsor of this site, Messicks's. I believe they are in PA. I have contacted Neil on several occasions and he is good to work with.

I looked at Pineridges's page and the installation looks to be pretty easy for me. I was all set to fabricate my remotes by tapping into an existing line until I saw how the factory version was made. My idea might not be so easy. I thought I shoud ask here for a source for the kit.
Thanks

Rear remotes for the TC40 series run ~$253 for the first, and ~$215 for the second and third. They include nice levers to fill the slots on your right fender.
