Need shoe or footwear, or boots recommendations

Forgive my ignorance but wouldn't it be more prudent to just invest in some type of socks that prevent any skin contact ???

When it gets wet out, I wear Bogs Romeo style shoes, very comfortable, not too warm, as you might think.
About $100 or so. Can't stand wet feet.

Good question. I do wear high quality socks but if my feet get wet from sweat, or from walking in wet grass, or whatever, the oils in the leather will get to my feet causing problems.

Although the socks will prevent direct contact, moisture will allow problem to occur. It's actually the tanning oils that I am allergic to.

The shoes from Germany finally came in today and they look to be high quality. I'll wear them tomorrow and see how they feel.

And the verdict is?

I wore them all day today and was on my feet for 11+ hours today. Although my 57 year old body is very tired, my feet feel pretty good for such a long day.

They seem to be a little tight, and if I order some again, I'll order a 1/2 size bigger. They don't come in a 'wide' width, and I wear a wide shoe.

So far, I am very pleased with the shoes.....

I got the boots on May 8, and today is August 20, so they are just over 3 months old. The soles are starting to separate. They won't last much longer now.

Very disappointed.....

Shoes have been very comfortable, and keep my feet dry. Don't know what I'm gonna do for my next pair.

Bummer. Any warranty? My next guess is to call Zappos directly and see what they recommend.
