Hello,
I'm looking to buy a 7610 but want to know if it will meet my needs. I'm looking to put a LA272FL loader and B4672A backhoe on it. My main chores for the machine will be to dig stumps and grading on PA mountian soil which is pretty hard. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Bob

What size stumps and how many. It will dig the stumps but it will be time consuming. But that is what I used my bx23 for. if the amount of acreage is not huge that you will be grading,
I think it will fill your needs.

Stump pulling is tough for this machine but not impossible. I have a B7610 with an LA352 FEL and a Woods BH6500 hoe.

I can pull 6" - 8" pine tree stumps with a little work, it takes time to dig around the stump, reposition the machine a couple of times etc. then the stump comes out. I wouldn't use this machine to just pop stumps out any bigger than 4" - 5", won't work unless the stumps are partially rotted.

Good luck

I had a B7500 for three years and had a Bradco BH. Stump digging time depended upon size of stump, the longest time was three hours on a wery large osage orange tree that I had to break out the chainsaw to cut the big roots.
And just like SCB said depends upon your acreage size the B7610 will do fine.

I also have a B7610 with a 4672A hoe and fully agree with skidmark.

This machine is very hard worker but the stumps you really have to dig around and loosen it a bit before taking it out.

Unless you are planning on stumping as a continuous task for the tractor, I would consider hiring it out. You will really work any small machine, and it will take a whole lotta time to pull them. An excavator will get the job done in a day, and it will probably cost just one months payment of a BH that you might purchase. You have to have a lot of constant use to justify a BH. I would focus on all other tasks for the tractor that you may have, and buy the tractor based on that.
Of course, a BH would still be fun to pull the occasional stump or just to look cool! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I have a backhoe on my B2410 and agree with the other posters relative to stump digging. It is fine for doing the occasional one here or there, but if you have many to do at once, you should rent something for the day that is better suited for the job. I would think you might want to consider opting for the LA 352 loader. I believe it is the Kubota spec loader for that tractor and should prove quite a bit stronger.

Just for reference, this stump was about 12 inches in diameter and took about an hour to get out.

and one more for reference. This one was about 4 1/2 feet across and took the better part of a week. Couldn't fit the Trackhoe into this location so my BX23 took on the job.

Steve,

Thanks for the insight. The 7610 will definitely do the job for me. I only have a few stumps that are large and can take my time getting them out. Great pics!

Thanks,
Bob
