Need some advice on installing field fence

3 - My big question, how do I attach the fence to galvanized corner, brace and H posts? It's not like I can hammer fence staples into them. Is there something available that will make this easy? The only thing I've come up with so far is to wrap the fencing around the end posts and secure it to itself and to use wire to attach it to the H posts like I would a T-Post.

Aluminum or light steel wire in short precut lengths can be purchased at chain link fencing suppliers such as Master Halco. These come in several lengths and are pre bent on one end so they look like a check mark so to speak. These will work well on the corners. They can also be used on the T post or you can use the normal wire ties on the T post that look like a W sort of. The aluminum ties can be bought in light residential grade so you might want to avoid them for your purpose and get the commercial heavy duty ties. We use them on chain link fencing up to 10 feet tall so i think they will work well for you.

Zip ties that are metal can also be bought. Yes metal ones, they are usually stainless steel. Can be tightened with pliers for a small job or a special pliers / gun can be purchased that stretches them and cuts them off all at the same time.

Luke - I checked my "vast" repertoire of pics and have none of the gabions. However, if its not raining today I will gladly get some pics and post. I use these gabions because - I have lots of rocks to fill them, I have shallow soil over basaltic lava bedrock and I saw how a neighbor was using them. It seemed so easy and didn't require any kind of rock drill to set a post - like 6" well casing. Oosik

Aren't you supposed to cull the dumb ones? :D :D :D
The way I see it, every goat is the dumb ones. Cows are pretty stupid animals also.

There was a break in the rain. Got three good pics of one of the gabions. Many attempts to upload, all have equaled zero. Get the dam message - "you don't have permission to perform this action". Its due to the stormy wx - I'm sure. I'll try again tomorrow.
