I will remember never to correct you then. Since I did not use advise or advice in my post I am still left scratching my head though. Is there a bible verse for that?

yea. "he who scratches head, thinks twice"...-Confucius?

LOL

About 35 miles away is WEAVER TURF POWER. Up in Willow Street, Pa.
Save yourself $5000-$10,000 and check out the company that actually makes the NH Boomers 40hp and under.
We bought our LS years ago and spent the money we would've given NH for their tractor, alone, on a rotary cutter, a finish mower,
a grapple and a third function valve on the joy stick.
Just a suggestion but we found that no one beat LS prices.

Go to the various brad forums here and read what all the owners are saying about their equipment.
There's where you'll find the gold for which you search.
All of us on here have had our bumps and bruises over the years with dealers.
Go and plop down 10s of thousands of dollars, like we did, and begin your journey.
In a few years, you'll be right here telling others about your OWN story and how it all went.

I've got a couple questions about buying a tractor and getting it delivered. I've been working with a dealer in North Carolina and I live in Maryland. They beat the prices of everyone else I've checked by a substantial amount and been very good to deal with. And seem very reputable. I'm new to tractors so the question is if you buy and have a tractor delivered what happens if you have a warrantee issue? Can you take any brand specific Dealer? Also are there any other issues need to be concerned with buying a tractor and getting it delivered?

Is there any particular reason why you tagged on to the end of another discussion (it's called, "thread hijacking") instead of starting your own thread?

If you don't know how, just go to the part of the forum where your question fits, and look for the big "Post New Thread" button.

Remote dealers make fixing any new tractor glitches a bit tricky, although the odds are your new machine will be in top condition when it is delivered. As someone new to tractors, you could face a steep learning curve in operating and maintaining your equipment; buying locally might offer more immediate support should issues arise. If you are comfortable doing your own maintenance and light repairs, you would probably be OK.

While dealers are "supposed to" give support to their make of equipment regardless of where it was bought, in the real world dealers are fully aware of who their loyal customers are, and it shouldn't be a surprise that they often get top priority.

Regardless of whether local or not, I would aim to do business with a well-established dealer instead of someone who just started selling tractors. Just my own preference.

Are you referring to the post immediately before yours? If so, the poster initiated this thread.

ben, I well remember each of my tractor purchases being a total of four so not a ton of buying experience and in those four ended up with three different brands from three different dealers. Each time my need was very different but the process was much the same. I got general info such as you are doing right now. Drove to the lot and looked at the tractor, sat on the tractor to see how it fit me and I fit it. You should find the two of you fit each other. Are the controls, gears and all easy in reach and make sense to you. Are you able to turn to look and see the rear lift arms for connecting to implement? Do you find it easy to mount and dismount the tractor. Is the seat comfortable? Walk around the tractor, how is the paint job if sloppy bet the workmanship on building it is also. I find weight is a good indicator of quality, you need weight for traction and stability. Look at how hyd lines are run and linkage are they neat and protected.

You find some dealerships just do not fit you, too busy for you, the tractor size you want they really do not sell (you will learn some really only work in a narrow market such as we have a JD dealership just a few miles away that we bought a Gator from and they were great on it but do not offer tractor size I needed). Try to batch time for this hands on comparison and take pictures, memory will get jumbled but looking at them in tight time helps you notice the difference.

I have owned Case, Kubota and JD. Was over all pleased with each tractor. Kubota paint jobs on each tractor is showing rust. As to buying a tractor from one dealer and having worked on by another...you may have great results or you may not. I would try to find a dealership that is good to work with and also within reasonable distance which will vary with you. Some have no issue hauling tractor 100 miles for repair if needed while to me an hour is my limit.
