That is the place for the starter. It looks nice but has no names or numbers on it. Sure cranks good though and low current draw. The pins on mine are 30mm, I searched around and found some 1-3/16" which is slightly larger , I used 4140, and touched up with a hand reamer. The cylinder rebuild kits are readily available and are metric of course. I will park mine inside so starting won't be a big deal, but my drive on the old starter was bad so I could resist trying the PM upgrade.
