I have never heard of this, who does this often?BTW - many old loaders are run without brakes. Not right, but done often.

One of these would be helpful if you're going to work on the valve yourself: Air Brake/Treadle Valve Holding Tool from SP Tools/Schley Products Inc.
I think the treadle valve would be the same as those found on any class 8 truck.
