herdfan, I have similar conditions to yours....hilly ground....used a ford 600 series for years. The move to one of the new 4wd cuts will be fantastic for you, no matter what you buy. I bought a 4020 Branson ( Kukje 40 hp turbo) with BH and FEL a little over a month ago. Due to bad weather, only used the hoe a couple of times. It is impressive, but is a 7 1/2 footer. I think Century has an 8 1/2 footer now. I am plowing snow mostly now...but have fallen in love with the thing. It is gear, with mechanical reverser. It works just fine for me. I too have some building projects, and figure it will pay for itself over time. Nothing is flat on my place, so you have to dig to level things out. You can see some pictures of my rig under the century/branson group. With new, you get warranty, no hours, financing, and a price between the chinese versus the kubotas/JD/NH etc.

Good luck in the hunt.

There is a North and South P-Burg,its all one city. You are from North Parkersburg if you live North of the little Kanawaha river which runs through P-Burg and of course South P-Burg from south of the river. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Old Hickory,

I hear more people refering to Parkersburg by north or south, more than I ever remember. I have lived in the MOV for 50+ years, is this N/S desination relatively new?

My family owns some land in Mineral Wells, which would be south of south Pburg.

I was by Lemon's the other day, lots of equipment for this time of the year. Have any of you guys from the MOV every dealt with Hayhurst in Pennsboro?

Don't forget about the big "tool" sale at the old Kroger store this weekend, I was there yesterday, huge checkout line.

It has been North/South P-burg for years and years.
Hayhurst,I have spent many $$$$$$$$$$$$$ there.Nice people/nice dealership they have been there for decades an old established family owned New Holland/John Deere dealerhip.
They use to be a Farmall dealership when I was a child.
Mineral Wells/real estate would be worth a mint

Hey Eric!
I'll date myself a bit with this .... but I lived in p-burg in the 60's and remember the north / south designations. Ofcourse once the South High School opened in 67 (I think), and the Big Reds and the Patriots started playing each other that seemed to make the distinction more prevalent. I've lived in both areas. Bought my first house from Dean Johnson out in Mineral Wells off turkey foot road.
Now that the JD dealer in S p-burg closed last year that Pennsborro dealer is the only JD one around (that I know of), but I've never shopped there.

Ole Hickory, your buddy did a nice job with that Cracker Barrel. It looks good.
Ole man Lemon does a great job keeping everything you could need in stock. He seems to be carrying more and more MF CUT's. He does have good prices, from my experience shopping there. It's a family run business all the way, and they all know their stuff.

Good to see others from this general area on the here on TBN!

Moon/Old Hickory

Date yourself? I remember when a Friday night was cruising between Jimbo's and the Fatboy in my 56 Chevy. I wish I still that old 56, it would be worth a mint.

The N/S thing has been around for awhile, I guess I was thinking of some advertising run recently. I seen a ad for "GNC South"! I never thought much about north vs the south, I went to school in Belpre.

I hope the land in Mineral Wells turns into a "mint", we have had it for sale for a several years, no prospects recently. We sold part of the land to Pepsi a few years back and had several leads until Wally World was built in Pettyville.

Hopefully we will find a good prospect that will bring some quality jobs to the MOV.

Stay warm guys,

I mentioned in a previous thread that I used to have aunts in Bartlett and Nelsonville, Ohio. I had another one in Pennsboro. My grandfather lived in a little wide spot in the road in Ritchie County called Beatrice until he got too old and moved to Parkersburg. Eventually, my dad had to move him up north with us before he died. I still have a few cousins scattered around Cairo and Harrisville and one in Ellenboro.

Before I was married, I spent A LOT of time in Parkersburg (long story), but haven't been down there for almost a year and a half. Last time it looked a whole lot different than it did ten years ago!
