Hi guys.

My wife is leaving for a trip with a tour group to go to nepal, china, and thialand for 23 days. Cultural and historical study.

She flies out from Florid on wednesday to LAX, then off to nepal, thialand, then china, and finally back to LAX, then home.

For anyone willing, keep my wife in your thoughts and prayers. Nepal is kind of dicey right now.. but the tour group says it goes there all the time.. and not to worry.

Well.. that's pretty much it.. I just needed to talk for a minute... boy.. it's gonna be a long 3 weeks for me! I guess I'll have to learn how to do laundry and change cat litter /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

thanks guys

I can certainly understand that. Just think of how much more time you can spend on Tractorbynet since you'll be too worried to sleep.

Sounds like a prety exciting experience for her, and you have reason (I didn't say good reason /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif ) to be worried. It's natural to worry.
I had an opportunity to go to Turkey one time, because several layers of management above me didn't want to go. I had a fabulous time, and feel fortunate to be able to see a culture that I had some erroneous ideas about, but came away with being very impressed with the people, their history, their vast resources, and lifestyle. I was glad to get home, but would like to go back someday too.
I'll pray your wife has an equally good experience on her trip.

We should worry when they leave to go to the grocery store down at the corner too. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Thanks guys.,

Bird: Yep.. I'm sure my sleeping habits will be all out of whack.

Junk: Yep.. I say that sometimes.. then she goes and does it and then I worry about here!

beenthere: I hope she has a great time too.. and I hope my nerves hold up!

Although I did not go to an area as contentious as Nepal, I was on a vacation to China during a very important time in all our lives, I flew to China on Sept 15 2001 for a three week tour. If you remember, this was also the time that there were issues with a US military plane having crashed and been salvaged by the Chineese government. Basically I hope I can reassure you with my feelings that I felt very safe during that entire trip. I even spent some time walking around downtown Beijing and Hong Kong late at night with no worries...I even felt safer than I have while walking around parts of Chicago at night. Your concerns are very natural, but I hope they are unfounded. I would rather travel Asia at this time than parts of Europe, and especially the Middle East (no trips to ****** for me....even though I would love to see it someday).

Relax - all will be well.

Just tell her to make sure sleeping accomodations are not under a tree with a big limb.

/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif This will make you appreciate her that much more /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I worry when my wife and kids travel without me too. Probably ought to worry when they go to the corner store too, like beenthere says.

Relax with the cat and the tractors and don't leave her any laundry to do when she gets back and everything will be fine. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Chris, I couldn't help but read your post with a wry smile on my face. You guys had to hunker down and survive all those hurricanes last year and now your worried about a little trip? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Me? I'd worry more about coming to Florida during hurricane season. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I hope she has a wonderful trip and you survive without ulcers. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
