Thanks, for the quick response. The mower wil no longer move either forward or reverse. It sound like a lot of grinding is gong on when iit is put into gear I was told by my local dealer that some of the parts for this unit are no longer available. Thanks again
Go directly to the source at tufftorq, here's a link. Tuff Torq | Driving Your Best Ideas You can find your model there and order parts directly. I can't remember the guy's name that handles parts, but he is awesome and very helpful. I know, I had to fix the tufftorq unit in my Husky rider several months ago. They are easy as heck to work on. So after I was told the transaxle was obsolete I decided to take it apart to see if I could find the problem to me it looks like all that is wrong is a shifter key broke and got stuck in the drive gears. I can see only one broken gear tooth. This is the first transaxle I have taken apart. Thanks for everyones help and input.
Well the gear with the missing tooth will need to be replaced. You may be able to find one like on ebay if you have a part number or maybe a Google search. Otherwsie you maybe be able to adapt a 46 series transaxle to your machine. Those are available on Ebay as well used.
If none of that works it looks like its time for a new mower. If you go that route pull and save your current motor for any future hydraulic projects like a wood splitter etc. B
