Our tractors run high sulfur #2 diesel almost 100% of the time. The larger tractors are all high sulfur burners. Sometimes I'll use road fuel in the small stuff when a large fuel tank is not near. Never had an issue running high sulfur fuel in anything, including the new Kubota engines. Most of our diesels under 80 hp are Kubotas.

The tractors run the same, same smoke, power and such. The fuel does cost less, right now its around 50 to 60 cents lower than road fuel when purchased in quantity. Road diesel took an 18 cent jump since last month, off road didn't change as much for some reason. My last fill up was $1.20 per, road diesel is running about $1.75 to $1.79 per. I did find a Kroger last weekend at $1.62 with the Kroger Card, its probably going to be gone soon. Kroger is usually more than the truck stops on diesel. I hope I'm wrong, $1.62 is a great price around my area for road fuel.

Ask the fuel producer about the sulfur content.. federal law says they have to provide that info to the consumer.

Check your tractor manual.. my NH 7610s manual states what fuel sulfur contents it can use.. and how to adjust the maintenance sched. accordingly.
