Thank you all -- I'm encouraged.
Still one thing I need to know -- must I lift the deck on turns?

As long as you keep the support wheels well greased so that they turn (caster) freely there is no need to lift. I used a 4' behind my B6100 for years and the only time I lifted the deck was when I was using the brakes to turn sharply. You mayl leave unmowed strips behind though that you will have to come back over to finish the job.

No need to lif tthe deck on a turn.. and do tighten anti sway.. and adjust lift and toplink so that mower rides on it's casters for that 'golf course' lawn look..

Thanks all. I mowed 3 acres and it went well. It's interesting how having the mower out back sometimes helps reduce the missed strips on turns compared to a mid-mount.
I found myself missing enough grass while avoiding obstacles -- and still getting a stiff neck -- that I want to try to rig some mirrors, tho. That'll get interesting.

I mow with a rear finish mower, too. I always leave it on the ground when turning. I only lift it to transport it.
One thing I might mention is that you should watch those latch pins that keep your wheels on. If you mow around bushes, branches can unlatch them and then your wheels can fall off. You'll also loose your spacers. So what I did was, install 1/4" bolts with a nylock nut on each bolt. No more problems. and I turn around less often to see whats going on back there.

Theowegian is absolutely correct. Don't know how many sets of spacers we lost nor how many times one of the complete wheel assemblies fell off while mowing before we finally wised up and used cotter pins instead of the clips. Haven't lost a wheel assembly since.

It's also nice having the noise from the deck behind you rather than under you.

Yep.. hairpins like to get snatched out.

On a similar issue... Lynch pins witht he round folding bail.. doy do those things ever like to get pulle dout too.

In some areas, i resorted to using a different lynch pin.. it has the same body, but is drilled for a hairpin at the bottom.. instead of a hair pin, I use a keychain ring... they never come out after that..
