I have the need to have a front PTO. The dealership wants $500 for the kit to make the mid pto become the front PTO. I think this is a bit to much money to spend. My tractor is a NH TC24 with a mid PTO. I have started my search looking for parts. Is there any PTO yokes with a male end? Does the PTO need to stay with 21 splines, or can you mix and match with 6 splines? Where is a good place to buy the parts that I need? What parts will I need? I have an idea of what parts are needed, I just want to see if I am on the right track. I have access to a sheet metal shop to make any brackets that will be needed. I can see that the tractor will need a bracket up front with a flanged bearing mounted to the bracket for support for the PTO shaft. I think standard parts can be used. I also have access to a machine shop to modify any parts that might need modified. Is there any ideas out there? I am open to hear any ideas. Thank you for any help.

500.00 might not be too much once you source out everything you need, and modify as necessary, plus it is "approved" by the manufacturer to have the proper strength and tolerances.
That said, you can probably find many of the specific parts you need from a place like Grainger.com. They have just about everything under the sun there.

I take it the mid mount PTO is 1000 rpm by the 24 spline arangement. Im not sure about the male 24 spline yoke but Im sure you can find one at TSC or the stuff to make an adapter from them. i mounted a sweeper for a friends tractor a few years ago I bought a new yoke and TSC was too far away to go to. I took an old pto shaft out of a silage blower and turned the end down in the lathe to where it would fit down in the 1inch square female yoke. I welded it in myself. Later the customer wanted anotherone for his new tractor and TSC was closer they didnt have it in stock but they did order it for me. I think the whole thing including bearings and all was 150 bucks. I did salvage alot of my bearings from the scrap yard and such.
