Thats rare, sounds like a good dealer. Mine is priced at $35.34 2.5 gallon. I use regular "UDT" from Sams or the local oil/fuel supplier or distributor when I need it delivered. (off road is $1.00 per gallon delivered). Never had a problem with any equipment due to hydro oil. But, if I had the money I would use the pricey synthetic stuff too, but I wouldn't pay retail.
I don't think Beshears or maybe Kubota put super UDT in my
L4330. Its a very light yellow, not orange like some have said. But, the tractor is a GST not HST. The stuff in the tractor is exactly the same color that I get in bulk containers for about $3.50 a gallon from an oil supplier. I usually buy it in the 5 gallon buckets instead of the drums unless I need a bunch for three tractors or more. The price is very close. Price a pallet from a wholeseller, you'll be amazed by the wholesale prices. Its not hard to get an EIN and have a small side business. We even buy soaps, flour, seasoning, etc at wholesale from the manufactures. Even a wholesale mark up is 60 to 80%, somtimes 100%. The minimums are somtimes lower than expected. Usually $150 to $300 per order. My lowest is $75 per order for soaps. We are starting our third home/side business this year. One of these days one will become our main source of income... I hope its going to be the tree farm / nursery /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Added: There is a big differance between a supplier and a dealer, manufacture, ect... Check around... Most so called oil companies are middle men or worse. On branded products there is usually at least 4 or more people between you and the real manufacture. I try to cut out as many as possiple. The shipping or transport from company to company runs the price up on the packaged products. Find the manfacture of the product and work towards the person that will sell to you.
Or just pay the going rate, on most things it won't be worth the time. But I have cut my cost down 40 to 50% below so called wholesale prices because I did my research. Then I make money off those people that don't want to do the research by selling to them about 30% below retail. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
