NEED TO UPGRADE 790, NEED ADVICE.

I have been looking at specs for both Kubota and John Deere.

Politically I prefer the JD, but what are they thinking with all the plastic?!!!

My trade in at the JD dealer will reduce my sales tax, that is a plus.

All the help and suggestions are sincerely appreciated, thanks guys. This is a friendly place.

That topic has been much hashed over here, but the consensus seems to be that they figure it's cheaper, won't rust, and won't dent and is pretty tough stuff. Many bemoan the lack of steel, others applaud it. Either way, you don't have a whole lot of choice about having or not having it in any particular model.

I won't give up my plastic for ANYTHING. I use mine in the woods, and it still looks almost new. I would have crumpled up sheet metal stuff a long time ago.

Well, I pulled the trigger.

Ordered a Kubota, L3130 with cast iron wheel weights, glide shift transmission, 723 FEL with h.d. bucket. Also ordered as quick attach and got a Pallet loader.

Should be delivered mid to late next week.

They gave me a great deal and then a fair price on my trade in 790.

Thanks guys for your help in my decision.
