Thanks, that's very useful information and matches my own estimate fairly well. I'm going be near the GVWR of a 14k trailer with the tractor and loader, but a heavier trailer would put me over 26000 lbs GCWR and into CDL territory, so I think I want to stick with the 14k trailer.

I'm going to look at a Big Tex gooseneck this afternoon. I'll probably come home with it if it looks good.

New London Trailers in Forest, VA (near Lynchburg). They were very nice to deal with. I think I got a decent deal. 20 + 5' 14k gooseneck with foldover ramps and pop-up center section on the dovetail. Twin jacks and chain locker plus spare tire for $6,600. It's a well built trailer with 12" I beams running the length of the deck.

That is a nice trailer should work well for your tractor.:thumbsup:

I currently have a Big Tex 12PI 20' I use for my compact tractors and have been well pleased with the way it pulls and has held up well. Next year I will buy another 22' tiltbed 14k trailer and may get another Big Tex.

In some states they do make a big deal over the combined weight rating and others such as mine don't bother with it. That said I think you are using good sense to eliminate that from being a problem.
