Jerry I would buy one like you have. All the local hardwares in this area have the heavy duty 30 amp starter buttons that look like you could mash them with the heel of your work boots and not do any damage to them. I need it for a horn not a starter motor. Where did you pick your up at?

The MF 1240-1250-1260s have a small black water proof horn button that would work just about anywhere.

I bought mine at a local auto parts store. I also believe I saw the same switch at a TSC (Tractor Supply Store). If you can't find one, I'll get you one and send it to you.

Jerry I was headed to TSC tomorrow (Sat) as my better half needs her $75.00 fix on bird seed. The birds around these parts really eat better than I do.

Thanks for the tip on the switch.

The big yellow thing in this picture is the temporary horn button for my 3710. In my opinion, it is about the ugliest thing I have ever seen but it was only about $2 at Autozone. I didn't drill any new holes, so I can still go with either the OEM Kubota button or one like MrWurm has. That TSC button doesn't look too bad and I'm sure that it is a lot cheaper than the OEM assembly. Not for sure, but it looks as if the whole headlight switch might need to be swapped to go to the Kubota switch.

Jerry thanks again for the info. I picked one like yours up today at TSC. I am sure it will work fine.

So what is the horn button for? The most useful thing I can think of is to save my voice from yelling up the hill for my wife to bring me a beer. . . /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Glad to see I'm not the only one that thought my little beast should've had a horn. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I haven't pursued the idea yet as I've been busy with the garage, but would like to do this project sometime. What are you guys using for the actual horn? I've seen replacement horns at AutoZone/Advance. Is this what you guys are using? Thought about putting one of the those big semi air horns down the center of the hood /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif, but then I would have to add an air compressor too......hey that wouldn't be half bad would it...... /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You know...when I was shopping tractors last year, I recall that Branson came standard with a horn button (no horn, though.) I think it was in the middle of the turn signal lever. Maybe you could check with Branson (or its twin Century) and see if you can get the part.

PS Or you could just get another tractor (named Red Rocket) to go with Blue Thunder... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
