Hoe, it's pretty simple. The L series are heavier than the B series.
My manual for the 2010 L3400 I owned listed it at 2600 lbs.
I have an '08 L3400 and don't have the specs handy, but can tell you the width is closer to 60" than it is to 51.4".

Hmmm...that IS interesting. :reading: I do not like the narrower (than a B3030) widths being published. This L3400 is apparently really an '08 as well, but does not appear to have an adjustable-width rear track.
Does anyone know if the L3400 ever had an adjustable-width rear axle?
Thanks, AaronS.
Width is adjustable if you have Ag tires, you can flip both the inner disc and the outer rims to vary the overall width. Mine with Ag tires will go as wide as 60" outside to outside, center track of tires is 48".
They are narrow, no question about it. Not the best tractor choice if you have a lot of side hills you plan on using it on, although they are nimble around the woods and between trees.
2600 lbs. is about right, which is light weight for a 35 hp tractor. Without 4wd they wouldn't be much good for ground engaging jobs, snow removal, etc.
