ChevyHDGert , Here's my house. Had some left over alum. got base and corner post welded together. Used enough wood to attach insulation inside. Outside used left over vinyl from full size barn. Got my sheet metal shop to build the roof. Here's pic of pickup when tank had to be replaced.
That gave plenty of "wide open space" to work on pump. Then very carefully sit it back down over the new tank. I have it sitting on bricks.

It was intended to look like a gatehouse. The client intends to erect gates adjacent with a video link back to the main house. Size inside is about 110 sq.ft but if at some future time the owner were to move the walls out, he'd have around 400 sq.ft., big enough for a cabin.

Not trying to be a smart a--, but they quit using well houses on submersible pumped wells around here many years ago. We use a pitless adapter below frost and run the water line into the house, which you have to do anyway. With a pressure regulator and a small bladder tank you are ready to go. The whole deal takes up less room than a waste can.

Sounds like a better system if you don't need an outbuilding for other uses - and way cheaper.

The other plus, is that with a pressure regulator set just right, you don't have the constant on and off while running water. Jacuzzi started this many years ago. Around here the city water systems have spread out so far that I only work on a pump once every few years. I get rusty. I checked the other day, there are only three liscenced pump repair people in the 5 countys around me.

i upgraded last year to the stainless in the well pump . i love it nothing out in elements, or taking up room anywere and its presure dosent surge and go up and down a little mor $ but worth it i think..

I just replaced a jet pump with a submersible for a customer. It was actually cheaper to go with the submersible than to put a good jet pump back. His was installed many years ago, it would have taken a lot to bring the piping up to code. In Illinois you can't " suck " from a remote location. You have to have the pump directly on top of the well or cystern or sleeve the line with a pressure line. That would have been almost impossible in his case.

Here are the links to the temporary insulated well house my wife built for our well a year ago to protect it from the weather while we are living onsite in a camper while we build our house. The well guy gave us a loaner pressure tank while the house was being built. We put a drop light with a 100W bulb in the well house for heat. It down got to 7 degrees F outside and the water didn't freeze. The light and insulation were enough to keep the temp at about 50 degrees F.
