Neighbor's dog causes several flat tires. What?

Yesterday a friend of the neighborhood stopped in the Store. I asked how his day was going and he said not too good this morning. I asked him what happened. He had pulled into another neighbors farm driveway in his Ford Ranger pickup earlier in the day and the Blue Heeler dog bite the tire. When he drove off, he got about 100 yards down the road and the tire blew out in the sidewall area and he had to change a tire on the side of the road.
This the first time I have ever heard of a dog causing a flat by biting the tire. Later in the day, I was informed that the same dog has caused at least 4 other flats and the dog owner had to pay for 3 of the tires. This makes me apprehensive about what kind of material these new tires are made from. Have you guys heard of anything like this? Ken Sweet

My neighbor had a dog that could and would do the same thing. Not sure what kind of dog he was, but my uncle warned me about him and told me the dog punctured one of his tires when he drove up to the neighbors house. Fortunately I never saw that dog on my property.

My Grand daughter stopped by last week and her tire went flat with a scrape on sidewall the sidewall was about the thickness of lawn mower tire.
May be something to the dog able to bite a hole in the tire

Other dogs that have previously urinated on or very near those tires could have something to do with the tire biteters .

It's not something new; I have heard of this happening back about 20 years ago.

There was a clip from a video TV show a number of years ago. Seems the homeowner kept having to replace his left front tire because of punctures in the sidewall and he never could catch the person with the icepick. He put up a video cam and caught his neighbors Collie biting his tire.

Sounds like this is more common that I imagined. KInda scary when I think about how soft and thin the material is between my family and the road. Ken Sweet

Back in the mid 70's, my Wife had a Ford Maverick. One day she went to visit one of my Aunts and Uncles, while I was at work. When she left to go Home, my Uncle's Saint Bernard had caused one flat tire on her car and was chewing on another when my Uncle chased him away. This was the first and last time that this has ever happened to us.
