I didn't have tinnitus until I had to start taking blood pressure medicine...but to answer your question..yes I have been exposed to a lot of loud music and am a firearm enthusiast...and I have noticed a problem with hearing certain frequencies...(not joking about this) but with some female voices I have a hard time understanding what is being said...I can hear fine but its like its all jumbled/distorted...also have a hard time understanding people that mumble...Do you have tinnitus? Did you ever listen to loud music? How about shot a gun etc? Have you ever thought that age may have something to do with it? Occam's razor?
FWIW...I have recently started taking a nerve pain drug (NEURONTIN/Gabapentin)...it is widely prescribed (#10 most prescribed) for a plethora of maladies...it was originally developed to treat seizures (elliptic)...it is non narcotic/opioid... I am taking it for nerve pain and to help sleep which it does little but it does work great for nerve pain...
...if you read up on it...there are many other benefits that are being reported by people that are taking the drug...although higher doses are prescribed for certain things I am taking 600mg daily...and on of the things I have noticed since I have been taking it is a reduction or complete absence of tinnitus...!!!
