3-Point Hitch Never noticed smaller 3pt

Back to the top link. What might be the purpose of having a smaller pin on the tractor end? I bent my 6500 top link, and because of this feature, apparently, I have to get it from Mahindra, which a local dealer "estimated" might cost around $150.

I took a sledge hammer to it and it is workable.

I think I saw a Mahindra toplink on Ebay for about $70--"Buy it Now" type. Its in the bunch of things that don't immediately show up with pictures. Look below. By the way, my 6000 is straight Cat II on the ball ends. It is Cat II where they hook up under the tractor (I take mine off to use the BH--thats how I know this...). My toplink is both CatI and CatII (diffent ends). I need this with my BoxBlade as it can be used eithe Cat., but has CatI toplink connection only....BobG in VA

Here is a picture of the lower arm. As you are looking at the picture, it is the right side arm. You can even tell that the pin on the right is smaller than the one on the left. I don't see how it could be on backwards. There is a bend in the end that attaches to the tractor, and the check link and verticle arms would not be in the right place. Is the ball in the end replaceable?

I don't know about anyone else, but I can see from the picture where the arm is reversible. It is easiest to see this on the left arm of the picture. Take a look at the picture with the directional arrows.

I would suggest they just put the wrong arm on your tractor. I would assume that could be easy to do. In the car business we often found Plymouth's with Dodge parts on them. Some models were made in the same factory. parts got in the wrong bin so they got used on the wrong make. They fit they just had the wrong name on them. How old is your tractor is it still under warranty? I would talk to my dealer. He might be able to get you a new arm or he might have a spare one from a wreck or a tractor he is parting out.

Yes, they should still line up correctly.

Hi Slippy; nice machine you have there, but it appears it's time for some spring cleaning!

1) get the garden hose with spray nozzle, and thoroughly rinse the tractor top to bottom, and the underside as well

2) dry off the body parts with chamois. Wipe down all greasy or dirty parts, such as the 3-point hitch area, with a moist shop rag. Get in all the corners so it's all completey clean

3) apply good quality car wax to all body parts. Wait a few minutes, then buff with clean dry cotton rag or towell. Repeat, then extra buffing for a high glean & polish

4) use tire shine such as Armor-all or Formula 2001 on all tires and the driver's seat. Clean & polish up the instrument panel.

A clean tractor is a happy tractor!

My 5005DI has reversible arms. When I bought it they had the Cat 1 ends out. They swapped them around so I could use my Cat2 stuff. Can't remember if they just spun the arms around or had to swap sides as well, but I bet that is the case w/ yours, one of them just needs to be reversed.

Ok..Ok..uncle. The outside may not be clean, but I do keep the inside very clean. Service on regular basis. I cut a lot of hay and grass, which is very dusty and sticks real easy. Plus, my other excuse is someone stole my power washer a couple of months ago along with some other equipment.

I was afraid when I posted the picture I would be scolded...and I deserve it, but promise to get it cleaned up.

I will check if the arm can be switched around. Would be easy fix. No help with dealer, he went out of business.
