I have the turf tires, the Ags would tear up the lawn too much and if I need more traction and don't care about the lawn in the future I can always add chains, that's what my father does with the JD to push snow.

Before Mahindra calls itself a world class tractor, it had better get a world class seat. Mahindra's seats leave something to be desired.....like some cushion in the right places. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hmmm, not sure which model you are referring to, but some of the seats could be better I suppose. They upgraded seats on most of the big tractors last year, and that makes sense for a machine that might be worked for hours on end on a regular basis. On the compacts, the Michigan style seats are well padded and have a minimal spring suspension which is common for tractors of this size. They seem just fine and certainly not inferior to the competition. Of course if a customer has a preference for some special seat it can always be installed. Thanks for the comment.

Well, Antdil, being a new member here like yourself, I was also considering a Mahindra, but the 2615. Anyway, at first, to me the Mahindra pricing seemed very attractive. But I have looked at ALL of the brands in the past few weeks, gotten a feel for several dealers, and will most likely end up with a Massey, probably a 1531 with a FEL and rake. I'm sure they're all good, what is leading me to Massey is a very competitive price with Mahindra, almost the same actually, they have been around forever, have a good reputation, and I'm certain that resale or trade in value down the road will be much better if you stick to a more established brand.
But again, I'm new here too. Just do your homework and check out every machine you can, also drive them. I really didn't care for the location of the FEL control on the Mahindra either. Good luck in your search, I'll have my Massey here as soon as I can make room in the garage!

I also considered resale value and Massey has a good rep. I wouldn't mind getting a bigger tractor but i'm sure that for what i'm going to be doing, mowing, alittle landscaping, and maybe move alittle snow. I'm sure the GC2300 should fit the bill just fine and the price is right. Hope your purchase goes well, I'm hoping to place an order in the next few days.

I’ve been looking at green blue orange and red in several brands. Drove a Mahrinda 2015 not long ago (unfortunately they didn’t have a hydro on the lot so can’t comment there) but the loader was far more impressive than KUB and NH, haven’t tried a green one. I like to dig with a loader, the Mahrinda had a good amount of travel downwards after contacting the ground with the bucket flat. The OEM Kubota and New Holland’s you’ll have to tilt the bucket forward in order to drive down past ground level. If digging depth of a front loader is important, IMO that is a consideration. Also noticed the speed at which the loader moved was startlingly fast. The depth of bucket and angle of the sides will also control how deep you can dig, the NH would probably win there. If the aftermarket loaders have the ability to drop below ground level with bucket flat I haven’t gotten to yet.
Not seen much comment on the mowers compared and that is one thing I would love to see an in depth analysis on all brands....that is, a comparison of likes/dislikes of all brands of MMM’s side and rear discharge.
I agree with Messick on one thing, you develop a feel for machinery as years and experience go by and can instantly feel minor things most people would never notice. I’ve spent considerable time on various machines throughout my life, including many varieties of race cars and race karts as well as having worked a time rebuilding engines including racing engines and diesels. All those things come together without you even realizing it and if you state an opinion that seems clear to yourself, others without that experience or “ear” simply can’t relate and often do not believe. There is no teacher of engine noise and harmonics like running over 115 MPH at Daytona on a racing kart that’s cranking 12,500 RPM.

Then at least I can tell you that I have had good luck with the dealer although the only 2 things that have gone wrong on mine were from operator mistakes or perhaps I should say that I ttry to get the most out of a machine /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Oh, and BTW Dave? The seat could use some help /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif I figure I can justify a aftermarket this summer from TSC.
