New 1758

Have a 1758 MF with Hydro. What is your experience with Using loader or pulling heavier loads in mid range hydro? Mine seams to have limited torque and will not load engine in mid range. Will not slip tires in 2 wheel drive on grass in mid range, Hydro just slips. Have to shift to low range then and limited to 3.5 MPH.
Have a 58 HP tractor that can't Pull/push loads anything faster than 3.5 MPH.

Mine is the same way. I can do light loader work in mid but rpm's need to be up there and have some speed going into it because once it digs in a loose pile it'll stop and just slip. It is dependable though but to many limitations for a 59 hp tractor.

My 1643 Hydro is the same way. In order for it to have any significant ability to push the bucket into a pile in mid range, the revs have to be way up there. I guess that's "Ag" hydro because it certainly isn't "Industrial" hydro.

I've worked around it by simply using low range to push into piles of material.

Here's a couple vids i made last year with my 1652. In Med range, pushing into a pile of dirt and loading the bucket as full as possible. That's an aftermarket 72" skid steer bucket, and close to a yard when fully heaped like this (close to 2000 lbs). The other vid is going up a 15 ft hill with a fairly steep incline, with that loaded bucket... In Med range, and then in Low range, for comparison.

Point is... The 16xx series seems to have more power. Likely that has to do with computer settings with the new 17xx series, as the 16xx series are mechanical, not computer driven. I can't imagine that they changed to a lesser pump in the new series tractors, so it's got to be something related to programming and should be able to be fixed fairly easily.
