Love the extended cab and color. Amazing on the tow capacity too. I'd love to trade up my 2003 Ram 1500 for something like this one day.

Congrats on your new truck. I like the GMC grill design just a bit better than this years Chevy grill but that is not a reason to pick one over the other. Underneath they are pretty much the same.

Drove a 09 Tahoe with AFM for a while and it ran great on the highway. At 65MPH on level ground it would run on 4 or 6 cylinders and the mileage was 20+. Seamless transition from 8 to 6 to 4 cylinders. As was said unless you are looking at the display you would hardly notice.

Congrats on the new Chevy. I own a 2011 2500 HD LTZ Dmax.....Awesome truck....I am going to add a photo of her.....I added a few extra to mine. A 4" lift, New wheels and tires, Fox shocks, AMP electric running boards and a whole list of other goodies. I tow alot of heavy equipment with mine and she tows like no other.........Great trucks. Good luck.

Thanks guys!

We had some ups and downs with this deal, so adding some dealer installed equipment was not going to happen. The good news is that we picked it up this afternoon!

I love this thing and can't wait to drive it some more!

Only bad thing about getting a new truck is figuring out how to go 500 miles without towing anything! :)

I'm sure everyone has there own opinion but for the first 500-1000 miles, try to vary the rpms as much as possible. Nothing crazy just dont go on the highway, set the cruise at 65 and drive 50 miles. I'm not one to say don't go over x amount of rpms but certainly don't redline it either. I prefer to drive it hard enough to seat the rings and valves without making it scream.

Also, go at least two oil changes (5-10k miles) before switching to synthetic. Again, everyone has there own opinion but I've built enough engines to know and they ALL had oil consumption problems when switched to synthetic right away. Most of them turbo but some NA.

Awesome truck!! Love the new GM design. One of the best looking trucks I've ever seen.

Nice truck! Congrats!

The new Chevy/GMC trucks are great for towing since you don't need a weight-distributing hitch.

The truck was a locate, so it had 45 miles on it when I picked it up. We are at 91 after going to dinner tonight at the mall. The truck drives so well. I'm really loving that 6 speed. It does wonders for the 6.0L, as the old 4 spd never felt like it was in the right gear (based on a couple friends trucks).

I'm going to be traveling locally for work next week, so it will be a good chance to break her in!

Thank for the break in advice Derek. That's what I had in mind. I've been on the highway with it, but trying to vary the rpm and speed. Haven't quite limited my speed to 55 though ;)

PAfarmer - sweet ride. With a lift I imagine its chore to get into though. My wife has a hard time at stock level!
