Now get you a leaf blower and after mowing you can blow all the grass off and keep it looking new. I used a wand on my air compressor for years to clean my Kubota Fs but once I tried the leaf blower I became a convert even though I didn't think it would do as good as the air compressor but I was wrong after actually using/trying them both. Positive you'll love the rear discharge and will never go back after having actual hands on experience with both types.

That's a good idea...will have it already broke out for mowing day so might as well use it for this purpose as well.

I love the rear discharge and hard shell collector on my JD.

I have a 60 inch side discharge and a 84 inch rear discharge. I live surrounded by woods and don't rake leaves in the fall. I make ever inceasing circles around my house cutting and blowing leaves with the side discharge deck. It works great and looks like I just raked it. The rear discharge leave lots of partially chopped leaves behind and looks bad.

Well, hopefully my luck is better than yours with my rear discharge.

That's right, the side discharge does some cutting of leaves but mostly blows them but eventually they have to be picked up or something to get rid of the pile/collection. I've also done the same thing and some times worked the blown leaves to a gully or area where I leave them to blow back in my or my neighbors yard (brother on one side and fellow Kubota owner on the other side).
The rear discharge is mostly cutting the leaves and there is no need for collection at some point but there will be the chopped up leaves just like high cut grass left to fertilize the yard. A couple of passes will mulch them up pretty good. I have a yard and not a lawn and have always thrown away, given away or sold any collection attachment to any of my mowing machines. I want what's cut to stay on my yard to fertilize because I never buy fertilizer or rake my yard, not lawn, a yard. :D
My brother has the lawn and used my truck yesterday to go buy 1200 lbs of ground limestone to lime his yard, oops, lawn which he also uses fertilizer. Yes, his lawn (1 acre) looks better than my yard (5 acres) except during dry summers and my green weeds flourish and his "grass" turns brown. :D

I'm curious to know how those low profile rear tires (26x12-16) are working. They look slick but is there an advantage?

I also have a yard. Whatever is green and grows I cut. We have lots of leaves. I usually have to "mow" them 3 separate times a week or two apart just to be able to get through them. The ever increasing circles around the house chop them up very fine as they get recut with every pass. I never have a pile at the end and the yard looks raked. I could use them on my garden but by the time I get to the garden they are gone. For the garden I use 250 cubic yards of mushroom compost instead.

Same here..Like an 18k RPM leaf blower/mulcher.

I don't really worry about tall grass all that much since I generally maintain my yard/lawn. Weather can be the only variance to that.

I also wonder about the tires. Im strongly considering changing from turfs to something like the Carslile WT300s on my ZD this year. The TurfMasters are crap in any sort of wet ground and its quite hard to keep them from digging in even when doing 3pt turns in the dry. Kubota must have realized that the old tires were a source of problems.

I see theyre finally offering a OCDC. I m going to price it out and see if I can make one cheaper or not. I want to add one to mine if its compatable.

Im going to also be interested in the new blade design. If they give more lift, ill likely get a set instead of a replacement set of Gators.

The improved dash is OK I suppose, but wonder why they didnt shake things up a bit for the industry and make the steering pilot/joystick controlled? That would be sweet to have nice arm rests and joysticks, with all the controls, like PTO, deck lift, etc. mounted on them, a better air ride seat would be nice too. Itd be like mowing in a lazyboy, doing an 8hr day would be no sweat
