Hello...I am a new BX2230 owner and I have about 3 acres of what used to be cornfield that I want to smooth and prepare for grass. Would tilling the field be my best bet and if so has anyone had any luck with renting a tiller for the BX? Any advice is appreciated, thank you

Welcome!

A tiller would be great. A Disk would also work, but would take more time/multiple passes.

Another option (can't tell from your bio) would be to hire a neighbor farmer to come in with a big tractor and disk to work it deeply the first time. I did that with my parent's one acre place many years ago. Buddy worked it deep a coupla times with his disk and it was good to go.

Best wishes,
ron

Look for a farmer with the correct equipment and let him do it the first time. No sense in spending days, and all that time to do what the farmer can do in just a few hours. The BX is a great machine, but it does have its limitations. A wise owner will realize these limitations and learn to work within its ability. Don't underestimate its ability, but realize its potential and limitations...... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
