I got a new old stock 2360 snowblower. Heard a few people have had PTO driveshaft issues. Anything special to look for so it doesn’t come off durning use. I might get my 1st chance to use it tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks in advance,
Pete

I,ve been using my B2370D blower for over 10 years, and no issues. Keep the joints in the driveshafts greased up, and make sure the coupler is locked onto the mid pto of the tractor. The front short driveshaft which is bolted to the quik attach has to be set up to specific dimensions, so make sure you follow the directions for assembling that correctly. Also make sure that the bolts with the T handles that tighten to keep the quik attach tight on the front frame of your tractor stay tight. I have found that I have to snug mine up a couple of times when I first put it on in the fall. To get extra torque on mine, I use a long 3/8" box end wrench to give me extra leverage. I set both T handles to a vertical position, so I can give them a quik glance which lets me know if they are starting to loosen up. Once my tractor has reached operating temp, If there is more than a couple of inches of snow, I run the RPMs at 3000 on my BX2370.

Nice! I picked up a new old stock one a few years ago when my dealer went under and everything was auctioned off. Most of it was there. I was missing the driveshaft that goes through the front hitch. Also, the rear driveshaft was too long. I took it to a driveshaft shop who cut it down and re balanced. The hydraulic hoses popped the first time I lifted it because they were old. Got new ones made and they’ve been great since. Otherwise it’s been great. I bought a linear actuator to control chute angle and wired it up. Had to replace chute rotation motor last year due to water intrusion damage. Kubota dealer was cheaper than MF dealer by almost $200.

I run at about 2200 when blowing. Maybe 2500 if it’s deep.

Some (early?) 2360s did have a driveshaft problem where there apparently wasn't sufficient overlap of the splined shafts and would come apart while blowing, resulting in major damage.

Mine, purchased when I bought my late-model 2310 in 2008, has never had an issue with that, however. As Bleeding Orange mentioned, there are specific measurements when locking the short driveshaft into place on the bearings of the quick hitch. Verify those measurements are correct with your 2360.
