Thanks. It finally arrived. I was ready to cancel because it was taking so long. Your brace looks nice. Did you bolt one side and weld the other. Hard to tell. I don't weld so I was just going to bolt a 9" x 10" 1/4" steel plate under the floor mat. I think that would do the trick. I was also thinking of getting another step and modding it to make one bigger step.

It's bolted on both ends. The portion you see in the pic is the top of the brace mounted / bolted to the factory "framework" that is under the floorboard. There was an existing tab with a hole in it.... like it was there for a brace..... The step has holes in it already for traction, so I just bolted though using one of them.

Yes, it was a piece of 1 1/4" wide x 3/16" bar stock i had laying around. Just put it in a vice and beat it to bend. It was definitely heavier bar stock than was actually needed. 1/8" x 1" would work nicely.

I'll look at mine again, I recall looking at putting a step brace on initially but seemed mine didn't have that same frame work under the step.

I noticed that the dealer greased the BH but not the front loader. I did that tonight. I have a few jobs to get going on. Also, I took fluid film and sprayed everything that wasn't painted and could rust. I would suggest this to anyone with a 2 series BH. There aren't rubber boots to seal the water out and I saw posts of rusting in this area. On my first tractor I had various bolts that rusted. Not this time around.
