3-Point Hitch new 2520 3pt arms installed

Thanks Jksnvly - I already mentioned to my dealer that I was going to try to find out what dealers have already done this. He says that will help him track down an approval from Deere to do mine as well. So I can't thank you enough. I think my dealer has a bad factory rep. who doesn't serve him well or he should already know about this. I've been waiting a month for that rep. to find something out.

Keep us posted on what you find out Bz1...there are a lot of 2520 owners out there that have reported this problem to JD. After my call to them, I came away with the feeling of being rubbed off by them....just like those shiny spots on my lift arms.

I am keeping my hopes alive that JD will take care of this...I do know that if JD is going to take the approach of letting each individal dealer handle it in their own way will open up a can-o-worms for them. Not a better way to lower the morale of the troops than to double the rations for the left flank by cutting the right flanks in half.

Thanks for taking the lead on this.....

Update. So Jksnvly graciously provided his dealer phone number, I called them, they gave me the information they thought I needed to get the fix. They provided a DTAC solution number and a replacement part number. The problem is that the solution number under which they fixed Jksnvly's machine was issued in 2006 and apparently only covers machines through a certain serial number. So according to my dealer my new 2008 machine is not covered. Someone else on this forum provided an actual copy of that same DTAC in which I find no reference to which serial numbers are covered. I am still getting nowhere and I'm frustrated.

Jksnvly, it might help to know the model year of your machine or if you know whether you machine was inside or outside of the serial number range specified in the DTAC solution #73813. I'm thinking that if I can show that JD covered a newer machine that is outside of the serial number range on that DTAC I might still have a leg to stand on. Thanks again in advance.

OK, I just took the next step. I called the JD 800 number again and told them my story. They said that a customer service supervisor would call me back within 48 hours. I'll let you all know what happens.

bz1 it sounds like your dealer is giving you the run around.

My experience is that dealers normally go with the model number and not the year of the machine.
If they went with seperate years and models they would have at least 4 times the dtac and solution numbers that would over complicate the solution process.

The solution number for the 2520 draft arms is 73813 and the new draft arm part number is LVA803085.
I called my dealer and had them recheck and they said that solution would apply to any 2520 with the old style draft arms.

Just talked to my dealer again today. He says there is an update to solution 73813 that some how does not specify that all 2520's are covered. He did however talk to his factory rep. who apparently is willing to go most of the way. He says that when a dealer responds to a DTAC solution as specified in 73813 and there is no formal replacement program it is pretty much up to the factory rep. what gets done. He says that some factory reps may be approving free replacement and some may not. He did say that his rep. did finally offer to provide the arms to me for free but I have to pay the dealer to install them. I'm going to wait to see what action I get out of my most recent complaint and if they don't do the whole job for free I'll probably have to accept their offer. The installation should only take 15 minutes if I trailer my machine to the dealer myself. I'm going to hold out for a free fix first. Thanks for all the info SkipH.

Can anyone get a copy of the info on this topic that JD provides the dealer, seems to me that JD is covering this and your costs should be $0?

I got a call from my dealer yesterday informing me that Deere requires him to take a picture of the rubbing arms and submit it with the DTAC. Apparently it is not a "slam dunk" replacement program and Deere will push back to see how serious we are about getting the problem fixed. Fortunately for me my dealer is top notch and went to my house to take the picture, that's what I call above and beyond service.
Hopefully Deere comes through for him and I get the update they owe me.

My dealer is picking my tractor up on Monday and bringing it back to the shop to look into this issue. Per his instructions, he needs to make sure the tires are in the wide position and make sure the proper lift arm holes are being used before he can do anything. I'm guessing if he swaps the wheels and there is no rubbing I'm out of luck on this one. Will keep everyone up to date on this.

I offered to drop the tractor off but they are picking it up, looking into the issue and will drop the tractor back off at my house (about 40 miles each way). Whatever the result, I can say that I am happy with my dealer's willingness to accomodate me.
