I bought my 2520 last August, and had read on this forum about the "cutting the top ring off the seat support". I was not comfortable at all on the stock 2520's on dealers lots........felt I was being pushed forward and this caused me to have to really keep my right foot cranked back at the ankle to operate the hydro pedals properly.
I really wanted the 2520, but that seating position would have been a deal breaker for me. My dealer, in order to get me to buy, even said that if I did have a problem, that they would find a way to reposition the seat slider somehow, to give me the extra footroom I wanted.
Well I bought the tractor, and told the dealer to chop off the top spring rubber before they delivered it, and I would try it that way first. What an amazing difference in the seating position. Felt like a completely different seat. My dealer had never heard of that "fix", and he was quite impressed and happy that I had told him about it, in case he runs into any other "seating" complaints.
I would suggest everyone cut that 1st ring off, it made a huge difference in the comfort level for me. Even if you for some reason don't like it, all you really will be out is the cost of a couple of seat rubbers.
