New 2542

After much consideration, fretting and penny-pinching, I finally made my decision. I purchased a new 2542. The dealer even came down on price (not much). I even purchased it on a 2 year 0% interest loan. I was so happy with the financing that I purchased a new 42" snow thrower. Tractor gets delivered tomorrow (no delivery fee!) - snow thrower soon to follow. My wife isn't too thrilled about her "Mother's Day" present but not too upset either. I really am curious if I got a good/great deal but I've noticed that purchase prices aren't normally listed here.

don't know what you paid for it, but I am sure it was very close to list price. You will be happy with the tractor, I have last years version of that tractor and love mine. I paid about 3,000 with the bagger. I know they went up some.

List is $3K, so if you got it for less then that puts you ahead of about 99.9% of the rest us /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Dealers may come down a bit on the tractor price if you lump in a snowthrower attachment. The snowthrower is nearly half the cost of the tractor. Congrats on the purchase FPD!

Congrats,

I am looking at a 2550. Is the 2 year loan through cub or the some other dealer financing. The dealer I talked to says only the 2005 models have 2 year same as cash. Anybody have any info on this?

The 2 years zero interest financing is through GE finance. It's available on the '06 models too.

I have looked on Cubs website at the financing deals, and there is nothing about this listed, even on '05s. Can you point me to something I can take to dealer, as I have applied for the MTD power card and would like to buy a 2542.

My dealer is the one that suggested it to me. A few days after I bought my 2554 with the 2 years 0% an MTD power card came in the mail and my purchase was on that card.
