So the rear ballast pretty much show me where I can cut off the switch or disconnect something so when I get off the seat it still runs instead of cutting off all the time when I get off the tractor? My sales man said he show me that part when he delivers cant tell me about it while on the JD lot, LOL

Your post isn't making a lot of sense...been celebrating your new tractor??

Anyway, rear ballast can be a combination of things:
Filled tires (great for stability, some ballast and keeps the rear down when using the loader)
Ballast box (really adds weight for traction...these are great!)
Wheel weights (adds weight to rear wheels...don't have 'em...don't want the hassle of installing them)

Since your salesman will show you how to use the off seat PTO...well, it's in your manual and it's a very simple operation.

Have not got the tractor yet, but not sure on the ballast thing but the dealer going to put water in the tires in the back. I was thinking more about the safety switch on the seat. sorry learning and tks now I a member of team greene, LOL

Yeah, that's what I thought...
It's pretty easy to enable off seat operation...just flip the set up, pull the safety switch knob, seat back down and climb aboard. Range lever will be in neutral as will the gearshift lever. Start the tractor, engage the PTO and get off the tractor. That's about it...
Off seat operation is for stationary operation (chipper, generator...stuff like that). It's pretty handy. It's not so you can keep a mower running while you jump off the tractor for any reason.

Find out what the dealer is putting in the tires, you don't want the water to freeze.
I prefer cast weights as they don't seem to leak out.

You want Rim Guard in your tires. Won't eat them out and will add a lot more weight than water.

Welcome and congrats on the new 3005. I own a 790 with a 300 loader. It was the last 790 the dealer had before the 3005 stickers replaced the 790 stickers.

I love the simplicity of the tractor design and operation. I think you will be WELL served with a 3005.

The dealer threw in rim guard or "tire ballast" to "sweeten" the deal, when I bought my 790.

IIRC, the 3022e dose not have individual rear wheel breaking. Thats a feature that a 3005 has that greatly improves turning when using an implement such as a rotary cutter. You just lightly press on the left or right break pedal when turning to help make sharper corners. They also can be locked together for normal breaking action.

And like Roy says, reverse speed is ether fast, or slow. But you do get accustomed to it. :D

I have very close to 500 hours on mine doing all sorts of work on the tree farm and custom tractor work. It has served me well and so has the dealer for implements and other needs.
