New 3430 w/hydro problem

Hello everyone!
My new L3430 HST w/cab was delivered last weekend and I couldn't wait to start playing with it. I was using it about an hour when I put it in high range and noticed a problem. The engine severely boggs down even with the RPM near 2500 and on a flat road. Medium range showed no sign of this problem. I called the dealer and they came out to look at it. The service tech changed two filters on site which did nothing for the problem. He loaded the tractor up and took it back to the shop. Not much time to enjoy my new toy /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif I have not heard back from the Dealer yet. Anyone else had this problem? If so, any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Are you pushing down on the HST pedal as if it was an accelerator pedal ? If so remember it's more of a gear shift so to speak . The further you engage the pedal , the higher the gear ratio . John

John, I thought that I might have been using the Hydro pedal more as an accelerater after I read a couple threads on this site. About mid-week I went back out to the farm and tried depressing the Hydro gradually. It continued to bog down as soon as I was able to acheive any speed faster than what I would call a crawl. The service tech also drove the tractor and said it wasn't right and he said that he has driven a lot of Hydros in the past. I really appreciate your response. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif. Not really, the gear ratio remains constant just as it would if you pushed on the throttle on a standard shift.

When you push the pedal it opens a valve that allows more fluid to pass through which turns the wheels faster.

If you read that you'd know it really is like a gear shift. On the Grand L kubotas the pedal is a valve for an acutator that shifts the angle of the swash plate in the tranny, changing the gear ratio.

my new B7800 with hydro won't go up some of the hills in my yard when it's in high gear. It just bogs down and comes to a stop, and the hills are not steep.
Is this normal?

As far as I know high range is for transport at high speed of the tractor. Larger ag tractors can't be operated in their high gears going slowly up hills either.

The 50 hp ag tractor we use can't up up a moderate hill in top gear, even on the highway with the accelerator to the floor it struggles on hills.

Hello everyone again!
I heard back from the dealer yesterday and they think they have found the problem. They noticed that there were 2 "spacers" missing in the transmission. They told me that Kubota must have misassembled the tractor in the factory and forgot to install them. The spacers take up volume in the transmission to bring the hydraulic pressure up to spec. W/o the spacers I always had low hydraulic pressure which was most evident when in high range. They are waiting on the parts and hopefully I will have a working tractor again shortly /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Thanks to all who tried to help. I'll keep you all posted.
