New 3510hst owner

I just purchased a 3510 HST and have got 20 hrs. on it building a leach field. It came with a 60" bucket on the FEL and I am thinking of getting a FEL with more lift power and a 72" bucket.
I need to move snow banks and the tractor seems to have plenty of power to handle more. The 60" bucket is not very rugged it is what I call a manure bucket. I would like to have a FEL that would pick up around 1800 lbs. Any suggestions where I might find one that would fit my sub frame ?

We increased the lift ram size about 1/2" and got about 1450 lbs lift out of a customers 3510HST with the ML108H. Talk to your dealer and ask him if he can do something for you. The loader is strong enough, it just needs a bigger cylinder.

Have you checked with your dealer? I'm one who believes in sticking with OEM parts. If you go with some other brand and something goes wrong, you can find yourself in the middle of a battle between the two manufacturer's. And besides, when you go with the OEM, you know you're getting something that was designed for your tractor.

Dave, Thanks for the response, my dealer said brushog has a FEL in the 1800 lb. class with a 72" bucket but does not have a sub frame for the 3510 HST yet, maybe in 2 months if the demand calls for it. Instead of 1/2 inch bigger rams do you think 1 inch rams would fit the mount and give it more lift ? I am also looking to make a tooth bar for the bucket, I live in Maine and we have hard rocky ground, any suggestions.

Torin, they did just fine. A little larger curl cylinder would give better breakout force though.

I wouldn't switch brands. The ML108H is a good loader and fits properly.

1" larger rams would have some fit problems. Keep in mind that larger rams take more fluid to fill them, so a loader with larger rams has slower cycle times. The ML108H lifts about 1100 lbs. With the slightly larger rams, you would gain a few hundred pounds lift but still have decent cycle times, and you shouldn't be in a lift range where you start breaking front end parts or destabilizing the tractor.

For a loader to lift more, it either requires larger cylinders or higher pressures. You can't safely (and don't even try) mess with the tractor maximum hydraulic pressure settings, so cyclinder size is key. Even then, it should not be changed without the approval of Mahindra via your local dealer.

Not having the time tonight to be more thorough, I have simplified things a bit. Others may comment on the difference between the tractor pressure relief and the loader relief setting, geometry of the rams, etc., but this should give you an idea of the things to consider when discussing FEL lift capacities.

Tooth bars are available for any bucket.

Thanks for the info. I'm not unhappy with the loader but, there are times when a little more capacity would be good. The tractor is very stable as is, with a load, and I wouldn't want to upset that or damage the thing. It did seem like it could be tweeked a little bit and you've confirmed it. Thanks.

The loader geometry for the ML110 loader that fits the 3015 tractor is about the same as the ML108H. The rams on the ML110 would fit on the ML108H and would increase the lift capacity to 1350#, like Dave said. I think if you were to go any further, it would slow it down conciderably. Bush Hog makes an M246 loader to fit the 2810 gear drive, but the lift capacity is only about 1500#. I don't think I would try to go any further with it. Good Luck!
