2010 Kubota L3940 HST-3
Ended up buying a new Grand L3940, HST-3 4WD w/6' hog. Ag tires. No weights or filling.

Very pleased with Barlow Equipment and the level of service, as well as the price. I was shopping for this thing during a move, as well as doing it from several states away from its new home in coastal MS. Brady was very responsive and pleasant to deal with.

Thanks to all of you here on TBN for answering my questions (the same ones that you get asked over, and over, and...:D ). This site is a fantastic resource for the first time buyer.

I managed to put 8 hours on it, and am impressed with its capabilities, especially when cutting uphill at a 30 degree angle. This thing just chugs uphill like it doesn't exist. Some of the area I have to cut requires me to back the cutter into the woods, and the HST is magical when doing this repeatedly. Same when doing dirt work. I used the bucket to level off the old tractor barn floor in order to prep it for conversion into horse stalls. Piece of cake, and beats the heck out of doing all that with a shovel:eek:

The tractor will be getting the canopy, work lights, weight bar, ballast box, 2 rear hydro remotes and a third function valve for the FEL next week.

Can't wait to get back home for more seat time.

Here are the few pics that I took (yeah, I know, they are pretty lame.:D All I wanted to do was drive it, not take pics of it:thumbsup:)

Philip,

That's the gear, except no hydro top link, at least not for now. I want to get a fair bit of time on the tractor before figuring out other things to add, though after my first 8 hrs, I am thinking a hydro top line might be a good thing.

Nice tractor. are you adding the options yourself or having a local dealer install them?

Will have the items installed by dealer.

I'm skilled with exactly two tools - a hammer, and a bigger hammer:D

I only have (and only plan to have) 2 rear remotes. If you look close at the picture with the remote levers, you can see I had the dealer put the levers in the 1st and 3rd slots to give me more room to operate. Makes it easier for me to operate one and not bump or grab the other lever by mistake. Just my preferance. The hydraulic top link spoils you in a hurry. Cannot imagine life without it now. Philip.

Philip,

Thanks for the heads up on the remote hydro controls, that makes good sense.

Actually, your thread about your purchase is what got me looking at this particular model:)
