New 4320 owner

Just wanted to inform folks that someone finally bought a 20 series tractor with toys. I haven't been able to get many hours on it yet, but at least I tried all my attachments out before stowing them in the barn for the long winter rest. So far it is sweet. More power than I expected. The electronic gizmos are still a gray area (e-hydro with LoadMatch, MotionMatch, SpeedMatch, can't keep 'em straight yet), but I like the dashboard readouts. This is like driving a car with all the toys. No downsides at this point except paying for it! But, like everything else /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif, you soon forget the price...

Well, if that is the case, you'll be receiving some mid 60's in the next 2 - 3 days, with the possibility of getting to the low 70's by the end of the week.

Why am I playing the part of a WeatherGuesser (that's what we called 'em in the Navy! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif)?

Because with the nice weather coming your way, you'll have no excuse for taking that spanky new 4320 into that barn and hooking up those attachments that you've put away and pulling them out for SOME PICTURES!!

Wisconsin sure must have been miserable last Friday. Saturday here was 41 degrees, 40 mph wind, rain and some hail. After spending time reading about an inch of manuals I really was itchin' to try out more, but it didn't stop raining till Sunday morning service. I hope to get on it tonight, but after work I have just one hour of daylight left. But that's a great hour to anticipate all day! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Actually, it started Friday night and lasted all day Saturday too! Except that we didn't have the rain. I would've remembered that while I was chasing the little white ball all over the golf course on Saturday. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I came as close as I ever have in quitting in the middle of a round of golf because of the weather, but I didn't! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Then I get home and see on the weather channel that the wind chill was 36 degrees! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I know how much you must be enjoying it... Hope you get the weather for some more seat time.

I've had my 4720 for about 3 months and have been gettin a fair amount of time on it.

Still waiting for my box blade but I have plenty of other implements to keep me busy.

I tried the box blade for about a half hour or so. I had never used one before and I was impressed how well they work. Since then I have been using the backhoe and loader. I want to tile about 500' in one field as my first (serious) project. As the corn gets off the other fields I plan on trying to get those before heavy frost sets in. All in all I want to tile around 450 yards or so. (that expensive laser rangefinder works good for something besides golf and target shooting. Wife isn't convinced yet...). I have (3) 20' culverts to put in, too. I am still developing touch with the controls, they are not quite second-nature yet... /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I got mine last week and feel the same way, no down side yet.
All I have done is dig with the 448 and haul the stumps and rocks away using the super slick four way loader bucket that I had installed on mine. I will put the MX-6 cutter on this week end and see how much fun that is. Looks a little scary to me after reading of some horror storirs about damage and injuries. I intend to be slow and carfull!!

I tried my MX6 for about an hour. One thing I found is they are heavy! Be slow to ease the 3pt down or it will crash and make a big booming sound like a bass drum. Otherwise it works great. I mowed down thickets of willows 2" in diameter and it acted like it never noticed. The blades being fresh and new are probably part of it, but my old Woods 5' would have jumped and rattled a lot doing the same thing.
