Might wan't to check out the ac in your 3720 if you plan on keeping it, I forgot to measure the ambient and outlet air temps yesterday but will do that this afternoon when it warms up. Should give you something for comparison to go by.

That would be great. What device do you use for measuring air temp? I have a digital VOM with a probe that seems to be accurate. Also have a Harbor Freight IR temp measuring tool but can't vouch for it's accuracy or if it would be good for this test -- better used for surface temp.

Checked the temperatures on the 4520 cab ac this evening and found the following.

Outdoor temperature was 76.4 degrees
After running tractor with ac on at 1500 rpm for 10 minutes
cabin temperature was 67.8 degrees F
outlet air temperature was 48.6 degrees F
Fan set at highest speed.

I used a Fluke 52II digital thermometer with a Fluke air type probe I use this in my hvac business and it is pretty accurate test equipment.

I have a good IR gun too but prefer the air probes for this type test.


If I had returned home earlier the temperature was about 90F today but other stuff kept me from it. At any rate 48 degree outlet air is about as cold as I would expect to get since lower air temps would necessitate the coil getting close to freezing temperatures.
