Congratulations on your new 5030 with cab. It's 90 degrees and humid in Minnesota today (State Fair time). The air conditioning on my 3430 HSTC worked great today. No problem cooling the cab to a comfortable environment. Enjoy your new purchase!

Well... tomorrow is the day I take it out for a spin. I am going to pick up the brush hog from my neighbor (he is out of town /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif). I have about 2 acres to brush cut. If I get done in time I will be off to the dealer to pick up an post hole digger.

The dealer sent someone out the day after delivery to deal with the backhoe. First thing I will try is to get it on and off a few times. Need to convince myself it is as easy as advertised.

I took it for a short drive down my driveway. The HST is fantastic. However, it is a bit strange to not have to shift gears.

I am courting with either an M9000 or an M102SA. My dealer has the price quotes but I haven't had the time to sit down with them. The 9000 and the 102 both have turbo'd/intercooled 4 cylinder diesels, but the 102 is a larger displacement engine. I like the self leveling loader on the 102SA. That is not available on the 9000. The 102 also has a 45 gallon diesel tank and optional 1000 rpm PTO.

I'll keep the 5030 too. It is the best Kubota of the 5 that I have owned. My wife can use the 5030 with the hydro. It's as close to a no-shift that you can get. The 9000 has a 12x12 shuttle and the 102 has a 24x24 slide shift.

I'll probably do an AG lease on the 102.

There is a smokin deal on a 2002, M9000 cab with low hours here that was used for snow removal contracting, 38,000$ Canadian with 500 hours.

Ends up about 5000$ less than a new (or used if you could find one) 5030 HSTC.

I'd have to come there with my drop deck to get it. With diesel at $1.90 per gallon, it would probably be a wash. My dealer has a 9000 sitting on the lot. I'll see what he wants next week. My only rub is that the 9000 has R1's on it and I need R4's.

The M9000 also has the ability to switch to a 1000 RPM PTO output. All you need it is to buy a different shaft that engages a different gear inside the transaxle housing. I believe all it takes to remove the output shaft is snap ring pliers to remove the seal at least this is what it looks like from my owner’s manual.

I think I'll keep my 5030 until next year. The dealer wants 43K for the 9000 with loader, 2 sets of remotes and 48K for the 105SA with a loader. The prices aren't bad, he just won't give me what I want for the 5030.

Next year, I'll buy the 105 outright.

As far as 1000 rpm pto, I don't need it. Everything I run is 540 or plan to buy.

The creep speed kit for the 105 is 1K.

Wait a sec...I just noticed something, did you say that you are using a BH with a 5030 cab model? I have a 5030HSTC (cab) and I was told that I can't use any backhoe with it. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Am I missing something, or was I misinformed? I'd really like to have a BH at times and had pretty well considered that I would have to either buy another tractor for that or rent a BH when I needed one.

Also, I have my first issue with the 5030. Anybody else have the foot control for the HST become too sensitive? I can't mow or use my tractor at all now unless I use the cruise control. Otherwise, it is so jerky it practically slams my head off of the windshield and rear window alternatively. It didn't used to be that way, and I used a L4310HSTC for years.

Dargo:

Go to your friendly Kubota dealer and have him get the specs on a Bradco Backhoe. Bradco sells a mount the will space their hoe out far enough to avoid the window problem.

As far as the touchy HST, try a lower range.

Thanks for the information on the Bradco BH. Is it really spendy? The HST problem is just that; a problem. Range doesn't matter. Sometime during the first 10 hours of operation something happened to the foot controller. It is going into the shop tomorrow. I cannot use the machine as it is. Hopefully it will be an easy fix. I will ask about the Bradco. I was sort of hoping to find out what price range to expect.

Thanks!
