new 5103

Congrats - nice lookin tractor. I really like those tough fenders on the 03 series. They seem to much more durable than the plastic ones - easy to bold a toolbox on too.

Very nice!! I sat on these at the dealership when I was looking at my 3320. Quite a different tractor all around. The 3320 seemed very much toyish compare to the 5103 to me. The 5103 seemed more agriculture based vs hobby farm usage of a 3320. It was quite a bit larger as well.

No HST though correct?

My brother just bought the loader for his. It works really well for loading manure and pushing the snowbanks back.
He has loaded rears and chains on it right now. He also set the wheels out some. It will lose traction before it loses power. That is one drawback with FWA; you sometimes have more traction than your attachment can handle and you end up breaking something. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I have over 60 hours on my 5203 I bot in August. Like it better all the time. Yes, it looses traction before power. And the fenders suit me just fine. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Sounds like your tractors need ballast to help traction. The 5103 should weigh as much as 5250 lbs total, with 70% on the rear wheels, 30% on the fronts. That'll give you optimum traction.

I have the same problem w/ traction...still need to fill my rear tires. I guess in a way it is good b/c that much power will also get you stuck quick. But it does need some traction help. Other than that, I also find the shifting sometimes awkward, hard to get in gear, but I contribute that to the ractor not being broke in. It only has 25 hours.

Another thing to check is the tire pressure. Tractors are shipped with about 39psi....called "Shipaway Pressure". For actual use, it needs to come down to working pressure, which puts a bigger footprint on the ground and better traction. You can go as low as 12psi if needed. I like it a little higher for better feel.
