New 5425

Don't kick yourself. That e-hitch can bit ya. If you don't have the top stop adjusted - it can eat a fender. I did just that one night. If I had a lever, it would not have happened. User error, but still.

I still think it would be a nice feature to have. Once the rockshaft gets fixed, I believe I will have a much finer ability to adjust the height of the hitch than on the Kubota. I can't wait to get some arena work done with the tractor and Reveal 4-N-1 combination.

The dealer ordered a new rockshaft valve. He wants the tractor fixed and the tractor at its new home. :D He says he can get it back to me tomorrow, but Friday morning will be soon enough.

This John Deere purchase has been kind of a trial by fire. One gets to discover the mettle of his dealer awfully quick. I've been impressed. If it only it were this easy working with car manufacturers and their dealers (curses Volkswagen's name and spits in the dirt). <- Kind of a long story that did not have a happy ending.

Cam is great to deal with!

They are/were having a sale on 5603s with a loader for $39,999. That was almost too good to pass up. But I needed/wanted a couple other features that weren't available on the 5603, so we got the 5425. All the guys at the Bishopville location have worked hard to keep me happy. While the deal hasn't been perfect, they have succeeded in keeping me in a positive frame of mind. :D

Can't say enough good things about Sparrow & Kennedy.

Man, I wish I could justify a 5603 right now - they seem like such a deal.

HOw are they configured? Is it a JD loader?

I believe it is with the 542 NSL loader... Basic cab, PowerRverser, can't remember if its 1 or 2 rear SVCs. I'll see if I can find the quote when I get home.

Man, that is such a deal. I paid $41K for my 5525 cab without a loader 2.5 years ago...

The 5603 comes in one configuration- cab, 542 NSL FEL, MFWD, PowerRverser, 2 mid SCVs, 2 rear SCVs, and standard hitch control. The price was $39,999 and the only financing available was 5.5% fixed for 60 months. Still a good deal on a lot of tractor!

Wow, what a deal. I still need to drive one. I hear it does not have some gadgets like tilt and telo wheel, etc.

Nope, not as fancy as the 5x25 series, but still a very fine tractor. I don't think the air ride seat is an option. :D
