Thanks for all the help with my posts . .I decided to shell out and get:

790 four wheel drive, power steering
419 front end loader
Bush Hog RDTH 60" finish mower
Bush Hog 4' box blade
16' trailer

the package ran me around 17k in central louisiana with perm. tags on the trailer.

My decision was based on information here and getting to use my uncle's same set up to do a boat launch, dirt movement, and grading. . . all in one day. Right now we have had too much rain to do anything, but I have some fun planned out for when it dries up. ..sitting at .8 hours.

Thanks for the wonderful information and site.

Sounds like a good deal. I am a happy 790 owner with over 500 hours. It is a really nicely engineered tractor. No features de jour, strong and sturdy -- and mine has been the most tough and most reliable pieces of equipment I have ever owned.

Good luck, Buck

I really enjoy my new 790. Only had it two weeks but it seems really tough. Hope you like yours as well as I like mine.

Trust me it still is an obsession. My wife tells everone what a great investment is was and to get a backhoe. These are two things I never dreamed would happen....

Great machine...you're going to love it!

You could have gone to a 72" mower...that 60" will look pretty small behind that tractor. I've got a 60" RFM....wish I could swing the cash to go bigger, but not this year.

Anyway, good machine..hard worker! Be safe and learn it's capabilities.

Congratulations on your new tractor! I have just over 50 hours on mine and like it more all the time.

Post a picture when you can.

Great choice!

I've had my 790 just this one summer, and under 10 hours. I got the 72" RFM (Woods) as well, and it makes short-work of the lots I have to mow. May try to pick up some mowing jobs next summer.

The FEL is very useful; I've moved all kinds of stuff with it.

Remember to check the wheel bolt torque often at first!
