No matter how much some want the old lines to come back, they are not. At least there is a company that still sells some of their parts. If it wasn't for AGCO, there would only be reproductions and we all know how many and what kinds of parts are reproduced. The most popular parts for the most popular tractors are the only one. Like several have said on a vintage board, if it wasn't for AGCO they wouldn't have any new parts available and that is right.

In my area for generations past, Allis Chalmers were "THE" brand among farmers around here. And quite often, many people buy only a particular brand because that's what Daddy owned, and that's what they grew up with. I think that if AGCO renamed its orange-line back to "Allis Chalmers" it might be a better seller. Only because of all those loyal to Allis Chalmers. AGCO just doesn't sound as genuine to their heritage as Allis Chalmers would.

You are probably right about that. But I can see a nightmare of legal issues to get the name back, quite possibly with only the lawyers making out well; (make that very well.) Not to mention they lost a bunch of dealers to MF lately.
( AGCO just doesn't sound as genuine...)
The name game is really funny. I agree with you there.

Well not exactly sure about east to west tip to tip, But if you go from 20 miles SW of WASH DC to the WV line its about 4hrs give or take for traffic. We are on the west side of the chesapeake bay.
