machmeter62 said:Thanx for the reply. Is there an equalizer between the two axles for traversing rough roads? I followed a double axle "lowboy" car trailer over a slightly rough road; the trailer was empty, which resulted in "severe bouncing" at relative low speed? That trailer had no suspension, which would also cause a lot of jerking for the tow vehicle? The manufacture also stated they would customize a trailer to your specifications, would that include conventional springs? Once again, thank you in advance.

Each axle is independent, there is no "linking" between them. The rubber torsion axles have been around for a long time , 20 years or more, and have become the standard on snowmobile trailers due to the low maintenance and their ability to ride smoother then steel springs. Pulling any trailer empty on a rough road is going to cause it to bounce around because the spring rates are designed to carry a load, therefore they will be "soft" when loaded and "stiff" when not loaded. This is very similar to a heavy duty pickup truck , although the pick up has the advantage of having shocks to buffer the bounce. There really isn't any "jerking" the tow vehicle, you can feel the trailer behind you but it doesn't move you around.
