I've been quoted $13,500 for a new Kubota B2320 with LA304 loader, no mower, R4 tires. 0% financing for 42 months. Good or bad? If bad, what should I be looking at for price?

Sounds a bit high to me... figure about $2500.00 for a MMM and I would think you could be looking at L size tractor for about the same money or a bit more.

Gregg,

Where at in Iowa? I just purchased one in Carthage, IL. Carthage is not to far away from the Southeastern corner of Iowa. The dealer I bought from is Knorr and Walker (I think spelling is correct). Here is what I got.

B2320 (R4 tires, not loaded)
Loader
60 in. Mid Mount Mower
The are welding some chain hooks on the loader (free)
Added arm rests to the seat (free, I just got lucky on that one because they had some extra arms sitting around)
Free labor on 50 hr. service

Total - $14,200 (not including sales tax which is 6.25%)

I believe that the price the gave me for the mower was $2,100 so I would deduct that from my price to get an idea of where you would be. As I said, the dealership has been great, has them in stock, and isn't very far from the Iowa line. I have been working with Bryan Knorr if you call.

My lowest quote for the same set up with 60" MMM was $14,625.

The only quote I have so far in NH was $13,900 for the B2320 with LA304 loader.

From what I have read, I think that I am very fortunate for the quote I got. I think it may be from the strong competition in my area. I have three Kubota dealers within 25 miles of my house and two of the Kubota dealerships have Deere dealerships with 5 miles of them. I probably have 4 or 5 Deere dealerships total within 35 miles of my house. Kioti is about the only brand lacking a dealership in the area.

I'm in eastern Iowa, I just called another two dealers, one at 13,200 and one at 13,700. Just seems high to me with people saying they have quotes of 14,500 WITH the 2,100 dollar mower. But maybe not.

My first quote was for $14,400 (with MMM)at the first dealership in Carthage. I thought that was a very fair price from what I had read, but I thought I would double check it with another dealer just to be sure. So, I stopped at another dealer and got a quote for $14,900. I called that dealer back just to let him know that I would not be back in and he said "let me get you another quote." This is when he came back with $14,200. I'm not the kind of guy to haggle with a dealer and try to squeeze every penny out of his profit. That honestly was not my intentions when I called him, but I don't consider myself a stupid man either:) I seemed to mesh a little better with the dealer in Carthage so I called him back and told him that if he would match the offer, I would buy one from him, which he did. I felt bad for calling the first dealer and asking him to match it because I felt his first price was very good and I really appreciated not having to haggle, but I didn't think it was fair for me to pay money I didn't need to either.

My wife yelled at me when I bargained between 2 dealers for my tractor. She said it was rude. I told her they had the right to say no. When a dealer makes a sale I don't see them kicking money back to you because you paid more than they were willing to sell it for.

I agree with you Byron. Although, I do believe that at some point you can become a bad customer and you can pay for it in the end. I want a good relationship with the dealer I purchase from. If I would have problems with something, I don't want the dealer to put mine in the back of the shop and say "we will get to it when we are done with the others." I don't believe the dealer that I purchased from would do this (if I did, I wouldn't be buying from them), but I have had past experience of the sort. It is just something I keep in the back of my head when negotiating.
