Kubota b2650, bx2200, L3940 (gone), New Holland FWD TN85, RTV 900
I picked up one, an open station, a few weeks ago to replace my bx2200. It's a nice machine and more like my l3940 than the bx. The 2 gripes I have so far is the pin up of the mmm. I don't know what Kubota was smoking when they came up with the pin thing. I have to get down on my knees on each side and thread a pin through that doesn't fit very well. The second is the step attached to the station gives 1/2" when you stand on it and I'm less than 140. Another thing is the radiator fan blows the engine heat back over the station and it gets really hot on a hot day. I had this same issue on the 3940. I am trying to find a fan to mount to the rops to blow some cooler air down on me. The tractor is pretty darn big. It makes the bx look like a baby. The seat is at least a foot higher on the b. The rops just barely clears my 8' door and if I got the canopy, it wouldn't fit. I got the 3rd function and 2 rear remotes. I also don't like the fact the remote levers are attached to the rops and are on the outbound side. They will surely get caught on a tree at some point. Pluses are it reaches pto speed at a relatively low rpm and the engine runs very smooth. The quick hitch loader is the cat's meow. I really enjoy changing out the forks for the bucket for the grapple in seconds. The rear is a little light (or is the loader really powerful?) and I got a ballast box for any loader work and will add something to the rears soon.
B2650HSTC, Grasshopper 725D front mower Kubota G1900
Did the same 4 months ago. BX2200 for the B2650HSTC. Handles the 72 inch mmm deck well. Pienty of lift on the quick change 60 inch fel and titan 42 inch forks. Just got a snow edge for pushing snow. Spraying, aerating are easier given the greater weight and traction compared to the BX. Staying out of the dust, heat, sun, cold and bugs makes the cab a worthwhile addition. Currently running with the unloaded turf tires.
I'm very happy with mine. Loader is very powerful, I have either a ballast box or a box scraper on the back and loaded R4's and she'll still curl a tire up now and then. It can pick up enough weight in the front that driving in certain situations can be scary tipping forward. The strength needs to be dialed back or the weight increased in the rear if they are going to make them this powerful. It's really not safe for a novice to hop on and go if they don't know what will happen in those situations or what to look for.
If you are moving forward with a FEL heavy load and too little counterbalance, so that the rear wheels are light, and a front wheel falls into a hole or a rut, the tractor will roll right over.
DON'T DO IT. Increase counterbalance weight on the Three Point Hitch.
