After a year of searching, study, and saving... I am a Kubota owner! I am taking delivery of my B3030 this week, and have a ton of projects planned. I am unclear on the proper break in? I am curious what all of you did? Mainly, how many hours on the machine until you worked it hard? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Well, when I got my tractor I immediately used the brush cutter to mow a corner off of the concrete pad at the top of my driveway /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif.

If you are using it for projects where you can keep the revs down then do so. But if you are running implements like mowers and such you need to run them at the recommended speed. Just try to be easy on it for the first 50 hours and make darn sure you do the first maintenance on time (or a bit early). I changed the engine oil (not filter) at about 20 hours on mine just to be careful.

Nice tractor - have fun with it and get stuff done /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. They're pretty tough - just make sure you change the fluids and filters and it should hang in there.

My B2910 has a MMM. The first thing I did with it was mow 2 weeks of growth. Keep away from full RPMs. This is a few hundred below full throttle. When possible, change RPMs every few minutes.
Be sure to do 50 hour maintenance per the manual.

Good advice! Especially that part about varying the RPM's. That helps seat the rings.

Also, do not change the oil until you have accumulated the hours called out in the manual. I'm sure you'll be tempted to, but that oil is necessary to seat the rings.

Run it like a rented mule! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif J/K. The only thing I did with mine for the first 25 or so hours was loader work so I didn't need high RPM's. Then the next 20 or so hours was used for blowing snow but I didn't go any higher than 2,100 RPM's. Have fun!
