I just took in this B6100 as a partial trade towards a Bobcat I had for sale. I had the Bobcat up for sale with no hits for months. I got most of my asking price in cash (good thing) plus this little tractor. I have no need for it really, did not plan to own a tractor, but it may be nice to keep around. It came with a fairly new bush hog finish mower on the back, has a couple issues, but seems ok. 1800 hours on it, 2wd, hydrostatic.

First of all, help me what year it is. Where is the serial number and how can I figure out the year? The guy told me (he thought, wasn't sure) it was a 1989. From what I've searched, they quit making them in 84.

What are the basics I should know?

I have a 4wheel drive gear one with a FEL. These little beasts run forever. The only tip I have is that in cold climates it takes a decent amount of time on the glow plugs to start it easily. At freezing temps I run the glow plugs for a minute, give it a turn over and if it doesn't fire right up it gets another 30 seconds. If done long enough it fires up in the first cycle of the engine. Do some searches and you'll find lots of info.

Thanks for the replys. I gave it a good once over, made a list of a few parts, then went down to the local dealer. I figured I'd better take care of the obvious stuff, ordered up a few things- a seat hinge pin and grommet was missing, a headlight busted, got an oil filter...

I had the dealer run the serial #, said it was sold new in '84.

I sprayed on a couple cans of de-greaser and cleaned the crap out of it. Just trying to figure out what I have here guys. Seems like a good little machine. Starts right up every time. The mower attachment is nice and looks almost new, maybe worth more than the rest.

I did search on here too, and learned a bit. Found and downloaded a manual for it.
